What a scam. I booked this place through booking.com, then the property contacted me separately on WhatsApp. They said they couldn’t charge my card for some reason, despite trying several times, and told me to book directly with them or the reservation would be cancelled. I felt safer using the aggregator, so I chose another property there. Then I was surprised to see the hotel hadn’t cancelled the reservation as they’d claimed. When I contacted them, they said they had actually managed to charge my card and simply hadn’t thought it necessary to tell me, even though booking.com still showed the payment as not accepted. It seems like a way to get people to bypass the aggregator, and if that doesn’t work, charge the card after saying it failed. They refused to refund anything. It’s not about the money, it’s the attitude. There are several booking.com reviews about payment settlement manipulation. I guess I should have listened.

The staff may be the best part, especially Estevan, who knows so much about local sights and helped us plan our days. The lake views are beautiful, particularly at sunrise, and the sitting, dining, and patio areas are lovely. Breakfasts are ample, and the price is very reasonable, especially with shoulder season deals. It’s a great base in the Bariloche area, about a 20 minute drive from town toward some of the region’s best hikes and sights. The rooms are comfortable, though nothing special. Highly recommended!

A Swiss pearl with a view. Quiet and peaceful right by the lake, next to one of our favorite treks, which has a little beach, waterfall, forest walk, a hike up to the hill 800m high with fantastic views, and a larger circuit we didn’t do. The hotel was five star in everything, but I fell in love with the view and that morning cafe moment.

The server was nice and the view was good, but the food was rough. The whole town seems to be like this during high season, but if you’re reading this, please find me something that isn’t microwaved. And if it has to be microwaved, at least heat it longer. The pork shoulder and chicken came out quickly with maybe two staff, so I guess that’s how it is, but the whole town seems to offer the same thing. It definitely tasted like food from a restaurant supply company, warmed lovingly in an old Samsung. The potatoes seemed maybe a day old too, really starchy like old potatoes. The pork was cold in the middle, though a few more minutes with the “chef” could’ve fixed that. Please, I’ll pay handsomely, just find me something cooked on location. The wine in Argentina is always good.

A peaceful stay by the lake, and very good value for the price. The staff were friendly and forthcoming. They immediately acknowledged that their site had overcharged our credit card and reimbursed us.
