Kenton Palace Bariloche

We were given a fan and kept the window open, but the room still felt hot. Since some rooms face west and don’t have air conditioning, that was our setup, and it also let in a lot of noise.

The pool and spa looked a little run-down, which was the one letdown during my stay. I was here as part of a tour and otherwise found the hotel nice and the experience pleasant.

We were hoping to get a good night's sleep after a long day seeing beautiful Bariloche, but the noise alone brought this down to a two-star stay. Cars were audible all the time from the gas station next door, and a nearby club or bar had a band playing very late into the morning. There’s no parking, either. The shower and bed were standard, and the room seemed nice at first. For the price, though, it was a bad experience. I’d suggest staying a few streets farther up or choosing another hotel with better sound insulation.

The location is the strongest point, right in the center and close to restaurants, markets, and the bus station. The rooms, though, were disappointing for the price, and the bathrooms had poor ventilation. There’s no air conditioning, so we had to leave the window open to cool the room. A club nearby played obnoxious music until 3 a.m. Breakfast was very bland, too. Check-in was frustrating. I arrived at 10:30 p.m. and waited about 15 minutes while the desk person was on the phone. Afterward she kept typing, and I waited another 15 minutes before asking, “Check in?” That was when she finally seemed to notice I’d been standing there for half an hour.
