Pier House

The heating worked well, but the rest of the house was a letdown. The kitchen was upstairs, the table was small, and the internet didn’t work. There was a leak in the bathroom, and the old furniture and general lack of structure made the place feel neglected. The beds were old, the towels rough, and the photos gave us the wrong idea. We expected something different. It felt more like a creepy old house from a horror movie than a fairy tale. I wouldn’t recommend it or come back.

We had to cancel as soon as we arrived and quickly find somewhere else to stay. The place was musty, nothing was open, and it was clearly poorly maintained. We rented it for six through Airbnb, but the photos didn’t match what we found. The supposed lake view was blocked by overgrown plants, and the bathrooms were ancient and damp, with soap dripping down the side of one. The mattresses were worn out, and one bunk bed room had exposed wires. The kitchen was barely stocked, and what was there was rusty or covered in cobwebs. Maybe this was a good option a few years ago, but now it feels neglected. A complete disaster.

I was there with a group of friends, and the service was terrible. We tried to use the washing machine, but its badly connected drain flooded the whole kitchen upstairs. When we told the owner, she gave us only a rag and said we’d have to pay extra if we wanted someone to clean it. The house itself felt eerie, and the photos were very misleading. I wouldn’t return or recommend it.

The service was friendly, and there weren’t any major problems with it, but we still had to pay for another place when we arrived. We rented this house for eight friends. It’s old and not especially clean, which might not bother everyone, though heavy rain flooded a room one day and that felt dangerous. The real disappointment was the lake view: overgrown bushes block it completely. Such a shame to have a view there and not be able to enjoy it. To me, that’s false advertising.
