Howard Johnson Finca Maria Cristina

The shared areas live up to the resort’s name, but my room was a different story. I stayed in the Casa Loft from July 6, 2019, to July 7. It’s a cabin with a large loft room, but the door wasn’t insulated well and the room got very cold. The soaps and toiletries were lacking, and I had to ask for hand towels because there weren’t any. Worst of all, there was no hot water in winter. When I complained, I was told to call, but there was no phone in the room. The concierge then told me to call the cell phone, though I had no coverage in that area. The included menu was limited to two options, each with a starter, main course, and dessert. Drinks cost extra, and they charge for table service. Casa Loft costs $7,600 for two people, with lunch and dinner about $700 more. At that price, it should feel more boutique than the sign suggests.
