Marriott Buenos Aires Downtown

The 23rd-floor fitness and pool/spa area was my favorite part, especially the incredible sunset view. It even made me more motivated to work out. The cardio equipment is very good, while the strength machines are older but usable. The heated pool is clean and sits in a beautiful glass indoor space with a great view, plus you can swim outside into a small connected section on the terrace. There are separate small saunas for men and women, so couples can't use a sauna together. I was very happy with my room and appreciated the upgrade. It was clean, the bathroom was nice, the shower pressure was strong and adjustable, and both heating and cooling worked well. The windows aren't properly insulated, though, so some street noise came through at night. Earplugs took care of it for me. Breakfast had a good range of hot and cold food, including fresh fruit. Every staff member I met was friendly and spoke English, which made things comfortable and easy as an international traveler. Celeste at reception especially stood out for being kind, engaged, and so helpful with my special request. I'm from Germany and stayed at the Buenos Aires Marriott for two nights. I felt genuinely welcome from the start and would definitely stay again when I return to Buenos Aires.

The staff were warm, professional, and helpful from check-in through departure, and the whole stay went smoothly. As Marriott Platinum members, we received a generous upgrade to a beautiful, spacious suite that was comfortable and well appointed, a lovely place to unwind after seeing the city. Breakfast was excellent each morning, with lots of choices and attentive service. We'd absolutely stay again in Buenos Aires. Five stars.

The bed was comfortable and the breakfast buffet was pretty good, with plenty of different options. This Marriott is nicely placed in central BA, near the obelisk and across from the Opera House. I struggled with the room's temperature controls. It started out warm, and turning it down didn't seem to do anything. Later it cooled off too much and I couldn't sleep well because I was cold. The following day I managed to turn the heat back on and warm the room again. I asked the front desk for help, but nobody came.

The rooftop pool was the one place I actually wanted to spend time. It was warm and relaxing. The rest of the hotel felt cold and somewhat decadent in the wrong sense, old and uncared for. The rooms were dark and noisy, and the doors barely blocked corridor sounds, which isn't what I expect at this price. Breakfast service was especially poor, with waitstaff who showed no initiative, didn't approach the table, and made no eye contact. The buffet wasn't any better. Complimentary water wasn't replenished until we asked, and then we were charged for two bottles. There was just one lobby restaurant, cold and dark. As a Bonvoy member who stays at Marriott properties throughout the year, I was genuinely disappointed. Marriott can do much better for what they charged.
