We slept decently in our private room, which had a window, and when the sun came out we enjoyed the terrace with plants and pretty, colorful paintings on the walls. The owner was flexible about check-in, and the internet was perfect for my Zoom seminar that day. At first, though, the several doors and cameras made me feel a bit like I was in a prison. The smell wasn’t inviting and the hygiene standards seemed quite low. It’s alright for a night or two if you want to save money. I felt safe enough sleeping there with my partner, but I wouldn’t recommend it for female solo travelers.

I stayed here in March 2017 and was disappointed. The rooms and bathrooms were quite dirty, and the staff were quiet to downright rude. One morning I was sitting quietly next to two drunk men who were making noise. A staff member came out, yelled at me in Spanish, and even pinched my lips. I almost left then and there. I’ll never stay here again.

The kitchen was absolutely disgusting, with no clean plates, dishes, cups, or utensils. It reminded me of Count Olaf’s kitchen from A Series of Unfortunate Events. The staff seemed to have no idea what was going on and spent most of the time sitting around doing nothing. Wifi worked maybe 20% of the time. The water was out half the time, so there were no showers, and when it did work, it was cold. One of the worst hostels I’ve stayed in.

The price is very okay for what you get, and the staff are friendly. It’s a big hostel with plenty of space to find a quiet spot. The rooms are separated from the common room, where afternoons or evenings can sometimes get loud, Argentine loud style, but okay. The kitchen is big. Wifi works, though sadly not in every sleeping room, including number 8. I’d like to come back.

The interior painting is very artistic, and it’s clean and centrally located. The staff have a good working relationship with foreigners.
