Faena Hotel Buenos Aires

The pool is really cool, breakfast has loads of options, and the large rooms are beautifully decorated. From the moment you walk in, it feels like a beautiful experience. I absolutely loved the hotel. Poolside service could use work, especially on weekends. They took 30 minutes to tell me they didn't have the wine I'd ordered, and only said so after I asked. I had to chase someone down every time I wanted to order. Still, the good parts outweighed those small annoyances, and I'd absolutely recommend staying here.

It's a fascinating hotel, though a little expensive. I liked the bar, and the pool area is very relaxing. The restaurant is really very good, and breakfast is a good buffet where you can choose anything on the menu. There's also a tango show on site, but it costs quite a bit more than shows at other venues.

The rooms are stylish and comfortable, and the hotel's lively feel makes staying here an experience in itself. Its dramatic, distinctive design, upscale public spaces, pool, and spa all make it a memorable place. The location in Puerto Madero is fantastic, and the staff are generally professional, friendly, and welcoming. My one reason for giving four stars instead of five is housekeeping. The room was nice, but cleaning could be more consistent and attentive to detail, especially at this price. It's still a great Buenos Aires stay if design, location, and atmosphere matter to you. Better housekeeping would make it an easy five-star experience.

The spa incident was the worst part: there was a cockroach running across the fruit table. In a five-star hotel's spa, I found that alarming and had to question the hygiene and sanitation. I even wondered whether it would be appropriate to contact the local sanitary authorities. I tried raising the issue directly with the hotel first, expecting a professional response, but got no reaction at all. This is nowhere near the standard I'd expect from a hotel with this reputation and pricing. A very disappointing experience. We spend more than 200 days a year in some of the best hotels around the world, so I know what five-star standards mean. I'd stayed at faena miami before and loved it, which made Buenos Aires even more disappointing. Room cleaning was poor too. Our laundry was left on the floor instead of being collected. Nobody followed up or did anything until I explicitly said the service was unacceptable. Until then, it felt as if guests were expected to be grateful just to be there, instead of receiving the service they pay for.
