GATE Recoleta

We rented two apartments. One was fine, but the other smelled nauseatingly of fresh paint, as if it had been painted ten minutes before we arrived. In that apartment, my 10-year-old daughter got locked in the bathroom for 10 minutes because a wooden extension on the door frame caught the door. It was horrible. From the start, they also tried to charge us a double security deposit. I called the day before leaving to arrange the return of our things and the refund. They calmly told me it was a weekday, or that I should have asked the day before leaving. It took five days for them to return money I was counting on for my trip back. I asked for the corresponding invoice too, and they never gave it to me. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.

The apartment in Córdoba had a broken light in one room, a bedroom TV that barely connected to the internet, and a tiny garage that was extremely hard to get into. The place was substandard, and the staff were rude and made no effort to improve the stay. Even before I arrived, they made the whole booking stressful. They didn't contact me or respond until the reservation day. I called, but the phone number was disconnected; I emailed and messaged through Booking.com, with no reply. I had to travel not knowing whether I'd been scammed. That lack of response, along with everything wrong in the apartment, made this one of my worst stays. I absolutely don't recommend Babel Apartments.

The rooms were dirty, old, and badly maintained, with ancient fixtures. One hadn't been cleaned at all, and there was men's hair on the sheet. There wasn't even a tea bag, coffee, or water. The key locker was broken, so we stood outside for an hour and a half waiting for a key. I had to beg for a reply about my payment, waited another year to get a key, and then waited a year again to find out where to leave it when we checked out. A shame, but I wouldn't go back.

We had a spacious, comfortable duplex with two bedrooms, three bathrooms, a kitchen breakfast bar, and a living area opening onto a street-facing balcony. The building is in a lovely, quiet area. It had air conditioning in every room and all the basics for a comfortable stay, including a refrigerator, TV, electric kettle, toaster, and more. Linens, towels, toiletries, and a hairdryer were provided. We didn't use the Wi-Fi, but it surely had internet access.
