Holiday Inn Express Puerto Madero by IHG

During our eight days in Buenos Aires, we stayed here several times, and the staff helped us a lot. Selena, Cinthia, Naira, Sofia, and the other front desk staff, whose names I can't remember, helped us contact the airline about our delayed luggage. They also received and stored it while we spent a couple of days in Uruguay. The hotel is in an upscale area with Gallerias (malls), close to downtown attractions and shopping. A Hop On Hop Off stop is nearby, and many bus lines serving different parts of Buenos Aires stop right across from the hotel. The cruise port and the ferry terminals to Uruguay are also close. It's a clean, basic but comfortable place with easy access to attractions, and we'd definitely recommend it.

We could walk easily to lots of attractions, restaurants, and shops from this excellent location. The front desk staff were so helpful, even tracking down a phone we'd accidentally left in a taxi. That was hard for us to handle because we had no cell service and don't speak much Spanish. Breakfast was good, and the room was clean.

I stayed here for seven nights as part of a specialized academic research project, and every day was a great experience. At first, we had complicated communication issues about room capacity and bedding, but Front Desk Manager Agostina listened carefully and understood what we needed. She quickly moved us to a more suitable room, which made it possible for us to be comfortable and productive. Agostina was a real problem-solver, and her professionalism and care for international guests stood out. Her decision-making felt true to the Holiday Inn Express brand. Reception staff were very helpful and apologetic, but the manager was nowhere to be found. We were told our room had been cancelled and the reservation moved to another hotel. Fortunately, we had WiFi on the plane and found out in time. We stood our ground, and suddenly a room was available. The rooms are dark, with furniture that makes them feel like prison cells, and the place badly needs a full makeover. Breakfast had a very poor selection. My advice is that the hotel needs a full refurbishment. Don't stay here.
