The refund ended up covering five of the eight nights I’d paid for, after a lot of back and forth. There was no discount for the trouble and no massage, despite the owner, Raúl, offering both by phone. We left extremely dissatisfied with the owner. I do want to acknowledge Rita’s willingness to try to sort things out, but the owner, who was in Colombia, didn’t rise to the occasion. I left a note listing all the problems, and I currently have an open complaint with the Consumer Protection Agency. We went a couple of weeks ago, in the second week of January 2026. From the photos of the room, heated pool, and grill, the place looked lovely. But Room 1 had a regular shower instead of the Scottish shower shown in the photos, a standard bed instead of the advertised queen, and a bathroom door that couldn’t be closed if you sat down. The heated pool was broken, and the grill couldn’t be used because of pruning debris and smoke blowing inside due to ventilation problems. None of this had been mentioned beforehand. We complained about the shower and were told it would be replaced the next day because an elderly gentleman had broken it. On day two, they came in without warning to work on it, leaving us unable to access the room for several hours, and shut off the water across the whole property. A handle broke that day, so they put the regular shower back. On day three, after giving notice, they came to replace it again. When they said it was fixed, I went upstairs to ask Rita, the receptionist who was supposed to accompany me, and found the bathroom flooded from a burst pipe. The shower was still the standard one. It was around 4:00 PM, and they had to turn the water off. They offered us Room 4 for two days, which we accepted, meaning we had to go down the narrow stairs from Room 1. Later Mr. Raúl said we could only stay in Room 4 for one night. I said I’d been told two nights. He also said lots of guests were unhappy and that we were turning them against him. I then asked for my money back and said we were leaving. At first, he said he’d refund six nights if we left that day, around 5 PM. I said I would if I could find somewhere else. We immediately looked for accommodation and found a place, but Mr. Raúl then said he wouldn’t refund us because he couldn’t find more guests that day. I told him he was going back on his word and said I’d complain to the consumer protection agency and file a criminal complaint if he didn’t refund us. He stood by his decision and threatened to file a complaint against us. Since he wouldn’t refund the money, we stayed that night and moved elsewhere the next day. We finally got a refund for five nights.

The view is lovely, the place is beautiful, and it has absolutely every amenity imaginable. Staff were warm and friendly, everything was in perfect condition, and it’s close to the city center.

We went for a long weekend, and although the location was good, the rest was a disappointment. They said there would be snacks and complimentary champagne, but neither was provided. Breakfast was meager, with no soda. They didn’t clean the room, just made the bed; the towels were wet and they didn’t even sweep. We were told checkout was at 3 PM, then got a call at 11 AM saying it was time to leave. Our return flight wasn’t until 5 PM, so we ended up wandering around and waiting at the bus terminal. I really don’t recommend it. A disappointment, a disaster!
