I booked through Despegar, but when I got to the hotel that night they said my reservation wasn't in their system. First they offered to put me in a room with a drunk woman, then they offered me a room alone, but just for one night. It was already late, so I accepted. Then they said there was no hot water and the rate was over 300 per night.
Hostel Dreams is no longer operating. The property has been rented to a new tenant, and they don't get reservation details, so don't book here. It's now a student residence, not a hostel.
It's a cozy, well-located and safe place. Mati, the owner, is quick to respond when you have questions. I had a good stay; the hostel does what it says, which is enough for me. A solid choice if you've just arrived in Buenos Aires and want somewhere safe to stay.
The staff are the best, and the place is clean and safe. The area is great for staying, and everyone helps however they can. Really nice hostel, I recommend it 100%.
