Hotel Intersur Recoleta

Recoleta is a great spot, with good restaurants and bars nearby. Breakfast was good, the little gym was decent, and the Italian restaurant downstairs was pretty good too. The hotel feels old, though, and you can hear a lot from inside the room. The cleaning crew chatted loudly outside my door every morning and woke me up each time.

The rooms have a sitting area that works well for getting work done, and the location is good in a safe area. The hotel has an interesting older style. Reception staff were great, but the breakfast team was less approachable. The bathrooms could use a style upgrade. There were few gluten-free breakfast choices, so I’d suggest someone with celiac disease eat breakfast and other meals elsewhere. There was a good variety for non-celiac guests. This was also the first time staff wanted to charge extra for two fried eggs instead of the usual revueltos.

Clean and nice, and the front desk was extremely helpful.

The bed was very comfortable, and I appreciated the free water, large work desk, and bigger-than-usual safe for valuables. The hotel itself is very nice, but the street noise from my room facing Callao street was far too loud for a 4-star hotel. I could hear cars coming from hundreds of meters away. If you sleep lightly, ask for a room at the back or somewhere quieter. The doors give visual privacy, but not much sound privacy. You can clearly hear someone taking a shower from the hallway.
