The owners were kind and refunded us immediately when we decided to leave, which earned the extra star. We’d booked a week, but went downstairs the next morning to ask for our money back after arriving late on our first night in Buenos Aires. Even our taxi driver was alarmed that we’d chosen this area. We thought he was overreacting, though the neighborhood did feel pretty sketchy. The room looked nothing like the photos, the toilet kept running all night, and the so-called kitchen could barely fit one person. It was unlivable. The photos really are expectation versus reality.

It's a cheap hotel that seems split between a very ugly short-stay section and a somewhat more family-friendly one. Merchants from elsewhere in the country often stay here. The surroundings aren't clean, and you need to be careful in the evening and late at night.
