We had a lovely time here. Cocu Boulangerie nearby was a favorite, and there are other good breakfast options close by since the hotel breakfast was only okay. Our room was clean and charming, and everyone on staff made us feel welcome.

The breakfast was poor compared with other 3 star hotels I’ve stayed at in Buenos Aires, and the price felt far too high for what we got. I was also disappointed that there was no fridge in the room, something I expected from most hotels in that category. Noise made it hard to sleep in. You can hear reception through the room door, and the family dog is loud enough to wake you, as are other guests. The dog is very cute, but the hotel should take these disturbances into account. Staff felt distant rather than especially warm, though maybe the language barrier played a part. I also got the impression that the family running the hotel can’t take criticism in reviews. The reviews had probably raised my expectations too much. In the end, this was a disappointing, overpriced stay, and I think you can find better.

The location is great and the hotel has a quaint feel, though the lack of natural light makes the room feel a bit like a cave. I could tolerate that. The bugs were another matter. I woke on Feb 16th, 2023 with 30 bites. I can’t say whether they were bed bugs or mosquitoes, but I’m sure they came from the hotel. My friend had several the night before too, though at first we thought they might be from outside. He slept with bug spray on. When I raised it, the owner said they use repellent inside and that I should sleep with it on. That seemed absurd. I’d stayed in a hotel in the Iguazu Falls jungle area and there were no bugs in the room, nor were we told to use repellent there. They also said bugs come in through the windows, but I never opened them. After working out what to do, we checked out one day early at 4 PM so we could stay somewhere without bugs. I asked for half the payment for the last night back, which felt reasonable in the circumstances, but they refused any refund. The photos show blood on a wall that hadn’t been cleaned, the hotel room, and six bites on one of my legs.

The owner and staff were very nice, and the location is great. We needed a few days to figure out their unusual key policy, but we had a very good stay overall.
