Breakfast suited our group well. It’s mostly sweet, in a very Argentine style, so people used to savory breakfasts might find the choices limited. There are some eggs, ham, and cheese, though, and that’s typical for Argentina rather than a hotel problem. We were seven people arriving in three separate groups at different times, and check-in went smoothly without any inconvenience. Staff throughout the hotel, from the front desk and doorman to the kitchen, were consistently friendly, attentive, and helpful. One person in our group uses a trained service animal, not a pet. The staff explained responsibilities clearly, handled breakfast thoughtfully, and treated our guest with kindness and respect. Their professionalism and empathy deserve top marks. The location in the heart of Retiro is excellent, two blocks from Galerías Pacífico and within walking distance of Catalinas (Line E) and General San Martín (Line C) subway stations. It’s easy to get around from there. At night the area gets very quiet, which might feel intimidating, but it is objectively safe. Buenos Aires, and this neighborhood in particular, has an approximate homicide rate of 3 per 100,000 inhabitants, comparable to many European cities and significantly lower than several major U.S. cities. New York and Boston both have higher rates. Retiro also has frequent police patrols and extensive camera coverage. If the quiet feels uncomfortable, taxis to the livelier nightlife and dining around the Obelisco or Palermo are easy to get. I stayed in late December, during the verano porteño, and the excellent air conditioning was essential. Rooms were spotless and well maintained, and the elevators were readily available with no noticeable wait at any time of day. Everything about the stay was excellent. I’d absolutely return and recommend this hotel without hesitation.
