Hotel Pulitzer

Hotel Pulitzer was a great base for my first trip to Argentina, with a convenient, safe spot for exploring Buenos Aires. The food was consistently delicious, and I felt welcome and comfortable from the minute I arrived. What I remember most is the staff. I spent afternoons in the restaurant having coffee and my first drinks of the day with Claudio, Sabrina, Yanina, Leonela, and Natalia. They were warm, professional, and thoughtful, and every visit felt personal. Later, at BDT Club, Augusto made some wonderful cocktails and brought real care and enthusiasm to his work. The whole team made such an impression that I could happily have spent my entire trip at the hotel. Thanks to everyone at Hotel Pulitzer for making the visit memorable. I can’t wait to come back.

The pool and deck on the eighth floor are a nice touch, and the rooftop bar has plenty of life. We booked breakfast with the room. It was basic, but nicely presented. This is a great value in Buenos Aires’ Retiro area, with excellent staff and friendly service.

We’ll be back at Hotel Pulitzer next time we’re in Buenos Aires, and now we’re keen to try their other locations in Europe too. The hospitality felt warm and genuinely attentive. Our room wasn’t ready for early check-in, which was completely understandable, and the doorman suggested we use the pool while we waited. Rafael, a real gem of a Concierge, also pointed us to nearby espresso bars and classic BA confeterias when we asked where to get coffee. The lobby and lounge felt like places to actually spend time, almost an extension of the room. We read, worked, and browsed the books there, and the pool was a welcome break from the BA summer heat. The restaurant’s ribeye was superb, room service club sandwich was top tier, and breakfast was a lovely inclusion in a dreamy space. We watched the sun set with perfect Negronis at Skybar while the DJ played vibey house music. To put it in Spanish, it was “de pelicula”!

There was a power cut and we spent the whole night without electricity. If this happens often, the hotel should have a backup generator. The next day, brown water came from the tap. We complained, but nothing was done. The hotel replied that after reviewing the information, it couldn’t offer compensation, and said it regretted that our experience hadn’t met expectations.
