I liked the garden so much that I stayed a couple of days longer than planned. It was a peaceful place to listen to the birds, read or write, and enjoy wine brought back from the vineyards. Lo de Chichí Hostal makes a lovely, relaxing base for exploring Cafayate and the surrounding area, with mountain views and grapevines overhead. The staff and facilities were great for a very reasonable price. There are so many vineyards nearby to sample.
I really enjoyed my three nights here and would come back. The garden feels like heaven, and it was hard to leave for the great vineyards nearby. The staff are incredibly friendly, keep the place clean, and are helpful and knowledgeable about their city. Breakfast was nice, with great coffee.
The kitchen had many rats, and the hostal was very noisy. There were no rules, and the hosts partied every night until very late, seeming to care only about your money and not your time there. I found them fake, unprepared, and disrespectful, especially belen, who was rude and negative. Young hippies worked there without understanding the job. The showers felt dangerous: they turn off the cold water without checking whether someone is showering, so the water can easily burn you. It happened all the time. The doors at the hostal's two main entrances had no handles.
The yard is amazing, and there's laundry service on site. It wasn't very busy, so maybe not the best place to meet people, but everyone was lovely. Highly recommend it 👌
The room had no heater, but the receptionist, Toni, gave us extra covers and we were never cold at night. He was always there with great suggestions and service. Breakfast was okay for the price, though nothing incredible. We paid very little for a great experience, definitely recommended.
