Right by the lake, this is a lovely place to rest and unwind. The hosts were really welcoming and wanted to make the stay feel special.

A relaxing stay.

We joined a history tour of the property, visited the vegetable garden and surrounding countryside, watched birds, and met the chickens and goats. It was all interesting and added a lot to the stay. The team also told us about their agroecological projects. Between the lagoon setting and the beautifully preserved historic architecture, this is a special place to relax. We’d love to return, and many thanks to everyone on staff for such a lovely experience. Our room and the facilities were impeccably clean. Dinner was included and delicious, with a choice of starters, main courses, and desserts. Breakfast was exquisite, especially the homemade banana and apple puddings. The staff were kind, and their attention to detail was outstanding.

I first came across the place on Instagram, and a friend had visited two or three years earlier. I booked, then read the reviews and wasn’t expecting much. For five people it was expensive, but in the end we felt it was worth it. We arrived Saturday, January 17th, after lunch in Chascomús, and left Sunday at 6:30 pm. The pool was beautiful, right near the lagoon with a stunning view. The spot where we had afternoon tea had a lovely view too. Tea was simple: coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, with orange juice, tasty pastafrolas in quince, dulce de leche, or sweet potato, and I think there were puddings as well. The rooms were large, more like a country house than a luxury hotel, but the beds were comfortable and there was air conditioning. The TV didn’t work because its batteries were corroded. There are two easy guided walks, one on a trail and one through the vegetable garden and nursery. I didn’t go, but my mother-in-law took the garden tour and enjoyed it. Breakfast the next day had herbal tea, juice, puddings, huge croissants, fruit, jams, butter, and more. It was perfect, and you could eat as much as you wanted while looking out at the lagoon. We checked out at 11:00 AM, then stayed to use the facilities into the afternoon. We had lunch there: a delicious mixed grill, a hamburger for my son, and vegetable empanadas for my mother-in-law. The menu is limited and service is slow, but we were there to enjoy the lagoon view, so it didn’t bother us.

I’d read some reviews and arrived for the weekend a little unsure, but the stay turned out very well. The estancia dates to 1789, so some old-fashioned features are to be expected. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, though not having a refrigerator was inconvenient in the heat. The restaurant menu is short, but everything I tried tasted fresh and delicious. I especially liked the vegetable and meat empanadas. Afternoon tea came on a cardboard tray and didn’t seem skimpy for two, though a table or nicer presentation like breakfast would improve it. Breakfast included ham and cheese, croissants, fruit, toast, pudding, butter, cheese, and jam, with coffee, milk, tea, and orange juice. There’s a lot of space to relax with lagoon views. The pool area was well cared for, and guests were peaceful and respectful. Some maintenance is due on the tables and benches in the kids’ play area and the pool loungers. A bit more frequent cleaning might help too, as there were a few cobwebs, though nothing too bad. The staff were polite and attentive. It’s a nice option for a day visit or one night, but the price is high for what’s offered.
