Being able to walk into the center of Barreal, with its basic services, is a real plus. The cabin is simple and rustic, but it has what you need for a comfortable short stay, and the mountain view is lovely. The bedroom has a double bed and two singles, which brought back memories of camping with my family and all sleeping together. One drawback is that the bathroom opens onto the dining area and its door doesn't seal tightly. The garden could also use more care and cleaning. A table and chairs out there would make it easier to enjoy the scenery. A good fit for rural and nature tourism.

The Andes view and the hammock were the only real bright spots. The cabin is small and feels isolated, and there was no air conditioning in the room. It was unbearably hot with just a standing fan. We had to borrow shampoo and soap from the caretaker. At 12:20 AM he brought a small bag of shampoo sachets and a very cheap bar of soap. There was no breakfast, just an electric kettle, and it felt expensive for what you get. They only take cash. If Booking.com only shows this place, don't feel you have to book it, there are plenty of other hostels. Barreal itself is beautiful, but it lacks tourist infrastructure, and there's not a single shady spot to get out of the sun. Such a shame.

You can really unwind here. The manager was so friendly and excellent, and both the town center and the river are an easy walk away.

Daniel, the owner, and Mauro, the caretaker, were attentive and happy to help. The cabin was really nice and clean. I'd recommend it.
