Elizabeth at reception was incredibly kind and sorted out what we needed. We weren't given the right room at first, but they fixed it right away, and the tricky shower was a small downside. The breakfast is simple but does the job for the price. Rooms were clean and spacious, and the lake view from the second or third floor was wonderful. It was also more affordable than many places in El Calafate. Lovely hotel and staff.

The lake view is nice, but the hotel is isolated and uphill from the city center. Internet only worked in the common areas. Our toilet wasn't fixed, and there was a lot of mold around the window. Breakfast was basic, and the service wasn't very good.

The walk back uphill from the center can be steep, even though it's only a few blocks, so keep that in mind. We didn't mind it. What made our stay special was the panoramic view of the lake and mountains from the upper floor, a lovely way to start the day. Our room was roomy and comfortable, with great heating for the local climate and very comfortable beds after hikes. Reception was welcoming and helpful with excursion questions. Breakfast was simple continental fare, but perfectly decent. We had a lovely few days and found it good value.
