Dormis Aca

I came for two days and ended up staying two weeks. It was a really pleasant surprise. The internet was very fast, there was lots of room for storage, the showers were good and plentiful, and everything was very clean. A couple of things could be a problem for some people: dogs sometimes bark at people passing by, and hardly any of the hosts or guests speak English. For a motorcycle, there's space behind the gate, but no roof over it. Everything else was perfect for me.

It's an adequate place to stay while passing through. The room door's lock was so stiff it couldn't be used reliably. When we asked the staff about it, they tried the lock, struggled, forced it open, and then walked away. We couldn't lock the door from inside, so we spent the night in an unsecured room. Apart from that, the stay wasn't bad.

I stayed for a week and felt really comfortable. The rooms were warm and clean, and the kitchen was large and well equipped. The hostel staff were lovely, and I felt welcome to stay as long as I wanted. They also held asado nights a few times, which were amazing.

I liked Dormis Aca so much that my one night there on the drive from Bariloche to El Chalten turned into five on the way back. I first booked three and kept extending because I didn't want to go. The shipping container idea is great, and the design feels fresh without being overdone. The guys running it were the best. There's a cool little pub upstairs, and the patio would be perfect for a rave.
