Hostal L' Hirondelle

The heated pool and welcoming atmosphere made this a lovely place to stay in the Punilla Valley. The location was perfect, and the staff in every department were friendly and attentive. We thought it was excellent value for money, and we'll come back.

If you're hoping to rest, this really isn't the place. It felt more like a social club than a spa hotel, and the Wi-Fi was awful when I tried to work. I booked because the ad promised relaxation and a spa, but the noise was constant, with people shouting in the hallways. A group of 25 then sang karaoke until 1 AM. I went to reception because we needed sleep before a 10-hour drive the next day, and was told, "IT'S FRIDAY, IT'S A DINING ROOM..." That was completely disrespectful. The owner, who clearly allows this, didn't even apologize, and the receptionist laughed in my face when I explained the problem. We had decided to add four nights when we arrived, but at payment they quoted a higher price than the one we'd agreed on. They said, "The rate has been updated." I should've left then.

The pools were a real draw, both lovely and well kept, with one outside and another indoors with heated water. It was easy to spend the afternoon there. They offer half-board, and the food was delicious and nicely prepared. A beautiful hotel.

The indoor heated pool was absolutely the best part, spotless and gorgeous, with the water at just the right temperature. The weather didn't let us make much use of the outdoor pools. We stayed as a couple for 3 nights, and the staff were exceptionally friendly, thoughtful, understanding, and helpful. Our room was spotless and cleaned daily, with a "Do Not Disturb" sign for when you weren't available and daily cards for pool towels. The shower was wonderful, with strong flow and nice hot water, and they supplied soap, shampoo, conditioner, a comb, and a shower cap. We could hear people talking in the next room, which might be harder during peak season. Breakfast was very complete, with croissants, breads, toaster, homemade pastries, natural yogurt, crackers, juice, cereal, scrambled eggs, fruit salad, cream cheese, homemade jam, butter, dulce de leche, coffee with milk, different teas, cold milk, and cold cuts. The indoor and outdoor common spaces were stylishly decorated, clean, and well maintained. They gave us delicious pastries for International Women's Day. The soft, quiet lobby music was a lovely touch. We'll definitely be back. Thank you so much!
