La Estacion Hostel

I came to volunteer for a month, and Tana was in charge. She’s wonderful, and the other volunteers are incredibly friendly, so the atmosphere is really lovely. The hostel has a beautiful garden, and breakfast with a mountain view is a pleasure. Everything is spotless, with all the facilities impeccably clean. The central location is great, only half a block from the buses. They also have bikes, and I often ride to the national park, just 15 minutes away.

Daniel and his team were fantastic, and the atmosphere was so welcoming, with wonderful young people around. This was our first time staying in a hostel. We stopped to rest during our trip and had a spacious, clean room with a hot shower and a breakfast table inside. It was spectacular, and the rate was better than any campsite. They welcomed Fiona without any trouble, which meant a lot to us, and she could enjoy the trip with us. We highly recommend it!

The day before my stay, I was told I couldn’t come because of overlapping reservations. That seemed odd, since the host has to confirm a reservation for it to be accepted. They then offered a terrible alternative at a completely different price. When I declined, they wouldn’t cancel my reservation, so I had to contact Airbnb customer service. A word of caution for anyone who’s reliable and organized, so this doesn’t happen to you.

A young staff member kept harassing my friend during her stay. She told him she was uncomfortable and unhappy about it, but he continued bothering her. Other female colleagues told her he had tried to bother them too, so apparently this wasn’t the first time he’d harassed a girl.
