San Remo Majestic Hotel

I left an hour ago, absolutely outraged. After paying, I went to our room and found hair on the bedsheets. It didn’t look like they’d been changed. The toilet had no water, so they moved us to another room, but by morning there was no water there either. I complained and got no solution. The only water that came out was a muddy, rusty trickle. We couldn’t use the bathroom properly or even take a decent shower. Breakfast was poor, with burnt coffee and sour milk. The manager’s food handling seemed like a serious hygiene and safety risk to me, since she touched everything without gloves. I came expecting a good hotel as advertised, and the whole stay was a disappointment. They should refund what I paid because the services I expected weren’t provided. Other guests left for the same reasons. This place should be closed.

We arrived at midnight after telling the hotel in advance. The first room was NOT CLEAN and FULL OF TRASH, and the bed was in a ridiculous state. The next room was clean in one sense but filthy overall, with cobwebs, squashed moths on the bathroom wall, and a bidet that didn’t work. The bed had only been straightened, with hair on it and the sheets unchanged. They moved us again to a room where everything worked, but the bathroom floor was completely disgusting. The superior room they gave us after that wasn’t great either, though at least we were more comfortable. There was no real cleaning, just the sheets being straightened. Breakfast was awful for what they charge, the elevator door was half open, and everything needs maintenance. I’ll NEVER return.

We stayed six days and never had hot water for a shower. The staff were lovely and tried everything they could, calling the plumber as often as needed, but the problem couldn’t be fixed. We understand it was an issue with the hotel itself. They offered us extra days for free, but the stay had become unbearable, so we turned them down. We also bought our own sheets because we wouldn’t use the ones in the room. Four very unpleasant people with very poor hygiene had been put in a tiny room, just 2x2 meters. The whole situation made our vacation miserable and seriously affected its quality. It didn’t end well at all. I wouldn’t come back, and the hotel wasn’t worth what we paid.

The location was excellent, but this was one of the worst experiences. They first refused my cash deposit and said we weren’t registered. We had to insist before they checked us in, after waiting two hours. The building was run down, with dampness, peeling paint, and bathrooms in poor condition. The facilities and rooms left a lot to be desired. The pool was disgusting, green with so much algae that it looked like a pond.
