Apolo Atlantis

The location is very good, close to the ocean and the main points of interest in MDP. The heating worked well, the bed was clean, and there was a closet for bags and coats. That’s all the good I can say. I got a free upgrade from Booking to a Triple room, but we were given a standard Double room. We didn’t need the second bed yet, but the hotel was almost empty, so why put us right over the lobby? We couldn’t even open the window blockers, and there was no view at all. The bathroom is tiny, with the shower directly over the toilet. We had a TV remote but no AC remote, no fridge, and not even cups. The charging points are badly placed, and the furniture is visibly old. There was a power cut in the morning, leaving us in a gloomy room with no bathroom light. Breakfast was black coffee or tea with ONE medialuna, ONE butter, ONE dulce de leche, and a few overcooked toasts. Who said this place has “very good breakfast”?! I chose it for my birthday after seeing photos of a good self-service breakfast table, so I was totally disappointed. I felt neglected there, and maybe that’s even why the keeper opened the front door in an embarrassing way every time. We couldn’t pay in the evening because the “encargado is not here, I don’t have access to the system.” In the morning there was a short cut, so there was no system again)) We paid in cash in pesos, a strange amount.
