Bitelyus Hostel Club

The hostel is nice, has good breakfast, and covers what you need. It's in a convenient spot near the city center, and the reception team is friendly and provides good service. If you're hoping to socialize or meet people, though, this may not be the place. Guests seem a bit reserved, as do most of the reception staff. Nataly was the exception: she's really cool, makes you feel more at ease, and suggests things to do in the city.

The hostel is in the Güemes area, surrounded by clothing stores and restaurants. It has generous indoor and outdoor space, a big pool, and a pleasant barbecue area out back for grilling meat, making pizzas, and more. The kitchen is large and has everything needed to cook. Breakfast was delicious, varied, and excellent. My private room had a good mattress, plenty of space, and air conditioning, so I slept comfortably. The bathroom was the main problem. The plastic shower floor felt very uncomfortable, and I nearly fell. Water was always left on the floor afterward, and it seemed like a pipe inside was broken because it leaked whenever I showered. Please check it. A curtain on the bathroom window would also give more privacy, and the bedroom needs a ceiling fan. These feel like things to improve rather than reasons to criticize the place. The place was beautiful and spotless, and Estefi was amazing. She helped me at another hostel before and welcomed me here this time. Caro was attentive too, and everything was tidy and VERY clean. It was too hot in the dining room. I'd ask for fans in the rooms and blinds to keep the sun out. Otherwise, 10 out of 10. Finally, a decent hostel in Mar del Plata!

The location is excellent, and the hostel itself is fine. The common areas were pleasant during our long weekend, but the private room needed a better clean. The floor looked as though it had only been swept, and the bathroom carpet was filthy. I asked for it to be changed, but the receptionists seemed unhelpful and unenthusiastic. Debora was the exception; she welcomed us and was very attentive. Before booking, I checked whether we could leave our luggage after checkout and was told yes. When the time came, they tried to charge us half the price of a stay. That felt very rude, especially since there had been no water the previous night, so we couldn't shower, and reception never responded about it. The receptionists could be more proactive and helpful.
