Hostel Playa Grande

A good place to stay for a weekend in Mar del Plata. The service was great.

The staff really made the stay: everyone was friendly, cheerful, and ready to help make things comfortable. The hostel itself is bright, clean, pleasant, and in a great location.

I spent nearly the whole summer here and left really happy with everything they offered. It felt like home, thanks to everyone at Hostel Playa Grande 🫶🏽. Beautiful place, excellent staff. I highly recommend it.

The only thing going for this hostel on Buenos Aires Street is the location. There was no one at reception during our ten days, so if we needed help, we were on our own. We even had to refill the water dispenser ourselves. On arrival, nobody came to open the door or give us a room. The phone number on the website went unanswered, and my email got no reply. We waited outside for an hour until a maintenance worker fixing the lights let us in. The room and bathroom were both quite small, and every shower flooded the room because there was no step to hold the water back. The kitchen was a mess: the stovetop didn't work, the oven door kept falling off, and there were no plates or glasses, only a few pieces of cutlery and a refrigerator. Even booking was a struggle, with replies to emails taking at least four days and confirmation taking about as long. I really wouldn't recommend staying here, even for one night. It felt like they didn't care about guests at all.
