Hotel Mar Azul

We had a triple room in the second half of January 2026. It was so cramped we could barely move, the sheets weren't changed, and even getting into the bathroom was an ordeal. The room cleaning was a disaster. Breakfast didn't match what the website shows. Even for a modest hotel, some of this shouldn't happen. Why mislead people? I don't recommend it.

The location is excellent and the staff are attentive, but that's about all this place has going for it. The room fans, its only way to deal with heat, didn't work. They gave us another one that was just as filthy as the room. Nothing was cleaned, not the bathroom or any part of the room, and the sheets weren't changed. It's a two-star hotel, but nobody should have to sleep in a disgusting bed or use a toilet that hasn't been cleaned after the previous guest. The same goes for the sheets. Breakfast was very basic, with powdered juice. I wouldn't recommend it, especially for anyone with a baby: the baby ended up with a cigarette in its mouth after finding it under the bed. Incredibly unsanitary and disgusting.

Room 115 was a nightmare. It was dirty and smelled bad, with disgusting carpet, hair on the sheets, and a stained, dirty comforter. The small beds were uncomfortable, the bathroom was old and poorly maintained, and there was no ventilation. The window faced an internal courtyard that you wouldn't even want to open onto. My allergies became unbearable, and we hadn't even been there for an hour. We complained and spent all afternoon waiting for a fix before they finally took pity on us. They said the agency had to answer. I can't recommend it for the room quality. They could at least vacuum the carpets, and the Google photos look nothing like it. Room 108 was a little better. The towels were changed daily, the bathroom was more modern, and the water pressure was good. Breakfast was good too. With more time spent cleaning and modernizing the rooms and reception, this could be a very good hotel because of its location. About their response: they didn't make it easy to resolve. They moved us from one triple room to another, and I don't know what difference they wanted to charge. Our travel agent said the manager would explain what happened, but he never even looked at us to say good morning. We didn't see him for the whole week. Theater tickets appeared on our key, but we didn't even go. Mazi Kiosko, the actors were staying there, and he didn't even pay to "invite" us. If we weren't allowed to wait at reception for the delayed bus, they should have told us. As I said, the manager couldn't even manage a good morning. It's easier to defame guests than take responsibility. We didn't pay for a vacation to spend it in that pigsty they call a room.

It's very affordable compared with other hotels, and I knew it wasn't a five-star place. In my experience, everything was clean and the staff were very friendly. What I got matched the price.
