We had the ground-floor apartment at the back of the block. It stayed cooler in summer, though it was a little dark. Inside, everything was clean and comfortable, with firm mattresses set up as twin beds together under an extra cover. The apartment had what we needed. The family renting out some of the 12 units was kind and quick to respond. Their son, Martin, speaks English well and was especially helpful when we needed something. The complex is usually quiet, though you might occasionally hear a TV or stereo. Street noise wasn’t an issue in our apartment. The neighborhood felt welcoming and safe, with little shops right outside and a larger Carefour supermarket within walking distance. The trip back with a full load of shopping might call for a taxi. It was great value for the money. Ask about the local rate: with the commissions and poor official exchange rate, contacting them directly and paying cash works out better.

We could fit up to five people in the apartment we had, and it was a very comfortable base downtown. Aristides Street is close, with other places nearby too, so you don’t feel cut off. The apartment was quiet and very nice, and we had no problems during our stay. It was spotless and came with towels, soap, shampoo, a hairdryer, oil, coffee, salt, sugar, and all the kitchen utensils we needed. The owner was incredibly friendly and even left us a complimentary bottle of wine. If we come back to Mendoza, we’ll stay here again. Highly recommended.

Good price, and the place itself is clean and nice. The rest gets 10 points. But summer heat was unbearable: the living room and kitchen need air conditioning, and the bedroom unit needs replacing because it doesn’t cool at all.
