Hostel Suites Mendoza

The location is good, but the place needs some maintenance. The WiFi being limited to the lounge was a hassle. Since the internet was slow, we usually uploaded our photos and other files to the cloud overnight, but here we had to sit in the lounge to do that. It's pretty dull in there, and we would have preferred to do it from our room.

We checked out after one night and found a much better hostel for $10 less. This place costs way too much for what you get. They insisted on payment before we saw the room, which made sense once we got there. The 'suite' with 'baño privado' had a bathroom of about 1.5m2, with the toilet right under the shower. The shower leaked, and the toilet wouldn't flush properly. The bed was okay, but far from clean. Breakfast was included until 10, but when we arrived at 9:15 there was only cold coffee and a bowl of cereal left. We asked whether they'd refill the orange juice and got a smiling 'no'.

A cheap hostel that's pretty all right if you just need somewhere to stay for a few nights. The rooms were decent, and the price matched the quality. Breakfast wasn't plentiful, and the WiFi was so slow it didn't really work. Nothing fancy.

The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the location is great. I'm reading some of the other reviews and people seem awfully persnickety. If you're traveling on a budget and want somewhere to sleep, spend time with good people, and work on your Spanglish 😁, I'd recommend this place. I look forward to staying again.
