Hotel América

Our toilet was broken, and using it meant putting our hands inside. The owner also went into our room while we were out to take the air conditioning remote. Climate control costs extra, so we chose not to pay for it. The hotel is old and dirty, and wasn’t worth 25 €.

Breakfast came with just a couple of pieces of bread, juice, and coffee, no eggs or anything like that. They even charged me 40 pesos when I asked to refill my water. The location is good, but the building and its fittings are very old. I couldn’t lock the door from inside, and locking it from outside was very difficult too.

Just average.

Thanks for having me. I had a lovely time in your city, and the service was very good. I’ve seen plenty of negative reviews, but honestly, for a 2-star hotel it’s quite suitable, especially for solo travelers or couples who spend most of the day out. It isn’t a luxury stay, and breakfast isn’t continental, but it’s acceptable. I’d only suggest adding small disposable shampoo bottles. The hotel isn’t right in the center, though it’s close to the park and a 17-minute walk from downtown. That’s an ideal spot for exploring, as far as I’m concerned. For what it offers, I’d give it a 10 out of 10.
