Hotel Castelar

Having parking included in the price made this a great fit for a trip by car, and breakfast offered a good selection. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our simple room had a bed and private bathroom, with everything we needed.

The location was good, and the staff did what they could, but the rest was a disaster. We'd reserved a month ahead for the long weekend, yet there was no reservation when I arrived. Management was poor, breakfast meager, and the bathroom door wouldn't shut properly. You could hear arguments and complaints among staff, the owner, and guests. When I requested an invoice, they tried to charge VAT even though I had already paid.

The reception team were all friendly and helpful, and when I mentioned the bad mattress in my room, they immediately offered me four other rooms to choose from. Apart from that issue, the rooms were lovely, clean, and bright, with good heating throughout the hotel. The location is excellent, close to everything downtown. Breakfast was good, though I would have liked more fruit. Parking is about 100 meters away and costs a very reasonable amount.

Great location, and the staff were so kind and helpful. The service and cleanliness were really good, especially the excellent treatment from Diego at reception.
