Manantiales Hotel de Turismo

Spectacular.

The place has a nice balcony facing the river, with a table and two chairs, though it was too hot for us to use it. The room itself was spacious but dim. The bathroom was okay, but the leaky showerhead and tub made showering awkward, and that setup doesn’t seem suited to older guests or people with disabilities. The bathroom door squeaked badly. Luckily, we had WD40 and did the hotel a favor, which helped us sleep 😄. There was a big closet, but only three plastic hangers for two people, and thankfully they held our jackets. At least four would make sense, even with the extra bed in the room. The hotel is pretty, but upkeep and cleaning could be better, especially in the details. The service was good and the price reasonable. Parking is semi-covered and almost on the street, which isn’t great for a motorcycle. The place isn’t accessible for people with disabilities, and I assume the rooms aren’t adapted either. There’s a pool, but letting local visitors in for $8,000 takes away some privacy, even if I suppose it helps the hotel. Breakfast is fine, with the basics, and there’s plenty of hot water for mate.

I’d give Hotel Manantiales a 9. The only thing I’d add is a free taxi for guests, or maybe a discount for people staying there who want to visit Bella Unión, Uruguay. Just an idea. The pools were lovely, with ones for adults and kids, and I was sorry to discover the grill too late to have the barbecue I’d wanted. The rooms were nice and clean, and I loved the location, with Bella Unión in Uruguay visible in the distance. Everything was excellent. I’ve stayed in other countries and never seen such a complete hotel. I think it’s the best in Monte Caseros.

The staff weren’t friendly, and it was hard to get even a smile from them. The hotel was really low-end, and there were visible dust bunnies in the room. I definitely don’t recommend it 😅.
