The kids called it “The House of Terror,” and I doubt they’ll forget it. We only lasted eight hours before searching desperately for another place. With two children, we were given a bunk bed whose lower bunk sagged badly. I’m glad Roberto told us to bring our own sheets, because the supplied ones smelled and were dirty. As the kids tried to sleep, I had an allergic reaction from the conditions there. The apartment was filthy and uncomfortable from the moment we arrived. The door lock barely worked, and there wasn’t a clean corner: used bandages were stuck to the bed, toilet paper was under it, the toilet and floor were dirty, and hair was on the shower wall. The shower area had no proper separation, and bugs of all sizes were everywhere. The mattress was damp, brown foam and deeply uncomfortable. When my husband told Robert we were leaving, he acted shocked. We’d seen complaints here and on Google Maps, so it’s hard to understand how he could act as if he knew nothing. He didn’t seem concerned that guests might arrive, see the state of the place, and leave, or that a quick sweep could at least make it look a little better. People may have to pay what they can, but nobody wants to spend a vacation in such filth. I tried not to be swayed by reviews because I’ve stayed in uncomfortable places before, but this was disgusting as well as uncomfortable. What a shame. I hope, Robert, you take the criticism seriously and think more about your guests.
