Las Araucarias

The location is lovely, and the historic building and grounds are beautiful. Communication with management and the front desk was good, too. Still, our stay at Las Araucarias in Pinamar, Buenos Aires province, left us feeling that the owners and management put their own profit ahead of guests. They didn't make us feel like customers who came first, and based on our experience, it wasn't a memorable stay. The breakfast was a poor, basic continental one that we didn't enjoy and didn't feel was worth the price. There was no afternoon or evening welcome amenity in the lobby. Wi-Fi was switched off at midnight for bedtime hours, as the hotel had decided, which felt like being treated as children. The air conditioning was also turned off for operational and financial reasons, apparently to save money and electricity. Our requests to turn it on were ignored, and the rooms got hot. We had to open the windows even though it was raining and thundering outside.

The way our complaint was handled afterward was the most disappointing part. We asked for a voucher or some other compensation for a future visit before leaving, since this was our second consecutive week staying there. More than 10 days went by without any call or response. Earlier, after the room was cleaned on the first day, my partner sat on the toilet and got bleach marks on her clothes because the seat hadn't been rinsed properly. One garment was ruined. We reported it and asked for suitable compensation, but they offered only $35,000, which wouldn't even cover the damaged item. We stayed two nights, mainly hoping to sleep and recover after traveling for work and attending a party. We expected to go to bed around 6:00 AM and rest in the morning. Because construction was happening right beside the hotel, we specifically asked reception whether work started early due to the noise. They assured us it began late and wouldn't be a problem. If we'd known otherwise, we would have requested a room on the other side. Instead, the work started at 7:00 AM and the constant noise made it impossible to rest. The construction, the poor hygiene, and especially the poor response to our complaint made for a very disappointing stay. If you want a relaxing visit, we don't recommend it. There is construction next door, and you have to be extremely careful in the bathroom to avoid getting cleaning products on yourself.

The facilities were impeccable, and the breakfast was very complete. I came with my son and got excellent service. It's right on the main avenue, so walking to the restaurant area is easy. Thank you so much!

I went for the first time 10 days ago and have nothing bad to say. Everything was impeccable, the attention was lovely, and they really love pets! I recommend it 100%!
