Vacances Dorado

We’ve been coming here for years, and the place is still lovely. The staff are warm and friendly, and the linens and cleanliness are excellent. We stayed in unit 7 this time; the upstairs bathroom has a few issues, and the heated pool could be warmer. Apart from that, everything was great.

We like the central location, though the beach is about 15 blocks away if being close to the water matters to you. The kids have a good time here playing, swimming in the heated pool, and meeting other children. Daily cleaning and fresh towels are a plus. The apartments do need more maintenance, and that seems to get worse each year. The kitchen is small and short on some basics, like bowls. We still come every year.

We love holidays, which is why we gave the resort another try this year after staying away for four years. It was our tenth visit, and back then the place had been in terrible shape: no maintenance, rusty and broken tubs, cars scraping on the driveways, doors and windows that wouldn't shut, poor communication with management, and even weasels in the cabin. We were told things had changed after we raised those issues, but the car still scrapes going in and out. Cabin 12, which they said was problem-free, had a broken bathtub with a hole big enough to fit a finger, so we moved to cabin 15, which was much better. The repairs themselves were handled well: maintenance got the stove working about an hour and a half after it failed, and after spending over an hour and a half on the front door, they replaced its lock. There was also a quad bike in my garage and I didn't know who it belonged to. But this work should have been done before my summer vacation, not while I was there. I hope this feedback helps improve the place.

This isn't our first stay, and things are great overall. The one drawback is how dark the apartment is, so we end up leaving the lights on for much of the day.
