Terrazas Al Mar

Pinamar reminded me of an Atlantic beach resort in the US. There’s a strip beyond the beach, but it isn’t seedy, and police were everywhere, which was probably a good thing...? We were there in mid January, so the high cost was high season pricing. Booking . com charged us in US$: paying in AR$ with a foreign credit card would have cost ?34% less, though currency in Argentina is complicated and changes daily. Our balcony was narrow and had a side view of the beach, across the road. Breakfast was good, with lots of pastries and fruit, good bread and a toaster, plus excellent scrambled eggs and bacon as the only hot dishes. You have to reserve a breakfast time the night before. Staff were helpful. If you ask, they’ll bring a teapot and fill it with boiling water, since the water otherwise available isn’t hot enough. They don’t seem to know to put the tea bags in first, but…😊 The indoor rooftop pool was excellent, as were the gym and sauna. There’s also an outdoor pool, which was very good, with attentive staff, and a games room for children. Reception service was okay, eventually they got there. One gym staff member had an “attitude” (“habitatción?, ”no “por favor” or “gracias”, maybe that’s acceptable in Argentina?). Reception seemed to have complimentary bicycles to lend, but the bikes weren’t listed among the services shown in the room. If you’ve got it, flaunt it.
