Poramba Hostel

It's a cute, quiet hostel, and the staff were especially attentive and kind to us. We were greeted by a really nice person. It isn't luxurious: we found lots of insects, including a huge spider when we reached our room, and the place wasn't especially clean, though it wasn't terrible. That's fairly normal for the area, and if you're not fussy, it's a good base in Puerto Iguazu for the price. Restaurants and other things to do in town are close by.

The staff were lovely, but the hostel was filthy. There was mold everywhere, even on the pillows and all over the bathroom walls, and we had bed bugs in our private room. The kitchen was repulsive, with some cupboard items stored on the dirty floor. Music played loudly until late. That can be normal in a hostel, but it was especially annoying when I had to get up early for the first bus to the Falls. This was the worst hostel I've ever stayed in, and I couldn't recommend it to anyone.

We liked the laid-back, familiar vibe, and the owner was super friendly. There was a clean pool and hammocks, and the room was fine, though the bed smelled a bit. Breakfast suits a sweet tooth, with lots of pastries and dulce de leche, but no cheese or ham. Being close to the bus station is a big advantage.

The pool was a great way to cool down after a hot day at the waterfalls, and breakfast was good. Everyone on staff that we met was brilliant and did all they could for us. Our room also had air conditioning.
