The views are genuinely great, and we found the beds okay, with air conditioning that worked perfectly. There’s also a nice spa and a pool the kids enjoyed. Staff at reception were friendly and tried to solve problems, and several spoke English. The main restaurant team was welcoming too, and the food there was quite good. But the noise made the stay miserable. A club right across from the hotel pumps bass so strongly that we could feel it in the room. Nobody could sleep, and it spoiled every night. I wouldn’t recommend this place, especially for a family with children. The hotel feels very dated, with old carpet and room doorknobs that were coming loose. Both the main and balcony doors need serious work. Parking is another headache: there’s no hotel parking outside, street spaces are nearly impossible to find with the beach crowds, and the private parking costs an unreasonable amount. Our minibar stayed empty for the first few days, and there wasn’t even free drinking water. Breakfast was the worst I’ve had in years. The food was poor, and the buffet setup was chaotic, with people pushing through the crowd. Meals and parking cost about as much as in Buenos Aires, but the stay didn’t justify those prices. Without a good night’s rest, the kids ended up exhausted and grumpy.

We used the hotel as a base to explore the area, which worked well, and saw lots of whales from our balcony. The town itself doesn’t have much going on. Check-in and checkout were quick and easy, and reception staff were fantastic. The maids and reception team were warm and friendly, the room was spotless, and we slept really well. Food was a letdown. There aren’t many worthwhile places to eat in town, and the hotel restaurant wasn’t one of them. Dinner was poorly cooked and presented. Breakfast had dried out bread and pastries, plus just bacon and congealed eggs as hot options. We also stayed at the Rayentray in Piramides, and the breakfast was exactly the same. The bar staff could be pretty disinterested. The wifi was weak, the gym stayed closed for repairs all week, and we had to leave the balcony door open each night because the hotel was set up only to heat the rooms at this time of year. I’d put it somewhere between a 3 and a 4, but the staff were good enough to make me choose 4 stars.

You’re charged for everything here, even a bottle of water, and they don’t offer one complimentary bottle a day. Even using the pool requires an appointment because they’ve oversold it, and it costs extra. You’re basically paying for a room while every other hotel amenity is chargeable. The hotel is far from the city centre, with no shuttle, and there’s no service to speak of. It feels like everyone is just trying to fleece you. They don’t even speak English. It’s a horrible hotel, please don’t go.

An ugly American-style building surrounded by a parking lot. It doesn’t fit the landscape or the look of the rest of the city, and there’s hardly any landscaping.

The views are lovely, but that’s about the only bright spot. The rooms are much smaller than the photos suggest, and the indoor pool is completely different from the one advertised. To use the pool shown in the pictures, you have to pay extra. The food lacks quality, except breakfast, which was okay. There’s no atmosphere, and the decor is tasteless. A few people at the hotel were really friendly and helpful, just a few. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. A pity.
