Mirador del Virrey Cabanas Boutique

The room was larger than I expected, but getting to Purmamarca would require a car since the hotel is somewhat isolated from the village. The room deodorizer they sprayed was overpowering. It rained heavily that evening and the ceiling leaked. I was alone, so I slept on the other side of the bed; luckily, as the rain eased, the leak stopped. Service was nonexistent. The minimal breakfast was brought to the room, and there were no common areas.

A good price for what you get, with a large room and a quiet location away from the bustle. The bed is short for anyone over 1.85m. Breakfast is simple and served in the room. Reception staff were very polite and efficient.

The breakfast was okay, but the inside of the hotel felt really sad. The lighting was poor and the decor looked like the 70s in a sad grandma way, not a nice hippy way. The towels on the beds had holes. Hot water took five full minutes to arrive, and by then the bathroom was flooding because the drain hadn’t been cleaned. I had to put my fingers in there and pull out someone else’s hair, which I didn’t enjoy. The insulation was terrible too. Until midnight I could hear the neighbors’ conversation as if they were in bed with me, even though they weren’t speaking especially loudly. From the outside, it’s kind of cute and it does have walls and a roof. I’m not sure how it got so many stars.

The mountain view is awesome, and all the rooms are very large. It’s a nice hotel a little outside the village. Breakfast is brought to your room, which has a small kitchen.
