Hotel Buenos Aires

For a budget hotel, Hotel Buenos Aires was comfortable and pleasant. My partner and I enjoyed our stay, and the service was excellent. We were treated very well and had no problems. The breakfast was delicious, though there were no croissants when we visited. We booked through Despegar and had a small extra charge, which wasn't the hotel's fault. The 15% fee for paying by credit card felt excessive, so we'd suggest paying cash if you can.

The included breakfast was good, and we also had good service and air conditioning. There were leaks at the toilet and bidet connections, though the bidet couldn't be used. That doesn't mean it was the same in the other rooms. Very good overall!

The building is in a good location and the place itself is nice, but the staff need to put in more effort. They made me leave my keys and asked if I wanted cleaning. I asked for clean towels and was told to ask in the afternoon. The next day they said they'd give them to me when I picked up my keys. I never got clean towels, and since I hadn't asked them to clean, they never did. The private room, which they say is the best, was only slightly different: it had an air conditioning control and a bar of soap, nothing else. There was one set of towels, and the TV was so small I couldn't even turn it on. Breakfast was passable because I'm not picky and was glad to have something, but hard crackers and watery jam aren't what I want with my tea. I've eaten better at lower-quality hotels. They should stop saving stale cookies for the next day, offer coffee and two simple croissants, and change the towels. One person served me cheerfully, though I don't know their name. The rest seemed to hate their jobs.

The rooms are comfortable, and the place is impeccably clean and well maintained. It's a peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere, with very friendly staff always available to guests. Breakfast is usually from 7 to 10, but if you let them know the night before that you have an early excursion, they'll open the kitchen so you can eat before you leave. I'd definitely come back, without hesitation, and recommend it 100%.
