Los Duendes del Mar

Things went badly from start to finish. The location is good, but the "red elf" that was meant to have a double bed was just an open sofa. The mattress was like a slice of cold cuts, and the pillows were awful. There was a musty smell everywhere. Neither the Wi-Fi nor the signal worked at all. The included kitchen utensils didn't even include a colander. The stovetop had just one burner, so anything you cooked meant the other food went cold. There was a microwave instead of an electric oven, and the refrigerator was just an under-counter cabinet that could hold two bottles, nothing more. The receptionist who greeted us was rude; you couldn't tell whether he was going to put a curse on you. He reminded us again on Sunday that we had to leave Monday at 9 AM, even though he'd already told us when we arrived. It isn't cheap, and for 10 or 15 thousand dollars more you can rent something better. I don't recommend it at all. A disaster.

We walked everywhere and left the car right outside. It's a lovely, quiet place in a good location, and the owner is very friendly. I went with three friends and my dog, and we were all made to feel welcome. We'll be back.

The cabin was spotless, bright, and airy, with a great location and its own patio and grill. It was small for four adults, but fine for a few days, and nicely decorated with everything we needed. The bathroom was great. Cooking takes some resourcefulness since the kitchen only has a single-burner stove and microwave, but that was okay. Next door there's a supermarket with everything, a taxi service, a deli, and a greengrocer, and the beach is just a few blocks away. Everything was perfect, I highly recommend it! The receptionist was super friendly. Thank you!

The humidity was extreme, and the room was dark and had no ventilation. The place was tiny, damp, unbearable, and uninhabitable. Towels were old and torn, there was no soap in the bathroom, and there was nowhere to dry clothes. The Wi-Fi didn't work and the TV was faulty. The bathroom was minuscule, though the water pressure was good. There were no blankets, and the owner was unfriendly. Check-in was inconvenient, they required us to arrive at 1 PM and then check out at 9 AM. For that price, it's not worth it.
