Hotel Caupolican

The water glass was kept on the radiator, which was pretty gross. The rooms had no charm, the carpets were torn and threadbare, and the bathrooms were close to unusable. Every time we flushed, the wall-mounted toilet handle seemed ready to fall out. I don’t know when the website photos were taken, but they don’t reflect what you’ll find now. The accommodations were barely above hostel level. Avoid at all costs.

The room was clean, with no dust or dander, and the staff were nice. The breakfast views were great. The doors don’t lock. I’m a man traveling alone, so putting a chair against the door works for me.

There was a good place to keep our bicycles, and the rooms were big. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was pretty good, with eggs and lots of cakes and pies, though on both days the staff struggled to refill empty plates. My wife, who is vegan, had fewer options.

Breakfast was complete and tasty, and the rooms were beautiful, although we were moved when we chose to stay an extra night. The hotel is right in the centre of San Martin de los Andes. Receptionist Agustina was cheerful and so helpful!
