Hotel Norte Argentino San Nicolas

The terrace is a problem if you step out for a smoke: when the door shuts, you're stuck outside, and calls to reception's cell phone go unanswered. We found the hotel itself okay, but the service was a disaster. After a long trip, we waited around 45 minutes in the lobby before the female receptionist showed up with the key to our reserved room. The woman working Sunday morning through late afternoon also failed to mention there was an elevator, so she sent us up the stairs. The staff is absolutely irresponsible. I don't recommend it.

My dad and son were sent to Hotel Belgrano after I booked them one night at Hotel San Martin, because Hotel San Martin had no parking. They paid 80,000 pesos for the night, which was outrageous. The room smelled nauseating, and there was rotten water in the toilet. It was 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit), but there was no air conditioning, and the ceiling fan didn't work either. Breakfast was just a coffee and two measly croissants. Don't go!

The staff are the one good thing here. Otherwise, the price is way too high for what you get, and there's no parking. The mattresses are old and saggy, the Wi-Fi keeps cutting out, and the croissants, the only breakfast item, are dry and stale. They even charge extra for hot water for the thermos and for sparkling water. Terrible.

The room could do with a new coat of paint. We had a great location, though, and all the staff were really helpful and ready to sort out any problems. Romina and Florencia served breakfast.
