Hotel Barrancas San Pedro

It was okay.

The staff were friendly and attentive, and the peaceful surroundings make it a good place to relax. It's within walking distance of the center. For its star rating, the pool and parking are a bonus. The parking is covered and has a space that can be moved around. The room has coordinated, suitable furniture, decent bedding, storage for clothes, and a smart TV for streaming if you have an account. There's room to move around, but not much. The window air conditioner cools the whole room and is centrally controlled. It's noisy, and they switch it on when you ask for the key. There's also a heater for cold days. The lighting is good, with blinds and a folding curtain to block the morning sun. The bathroom is unusual, with new fixtures and good lighting. The shower is strikingly small, so you need some agility to use it. The pool is excellent, with chairs, umbrellas, and tables, and it's fenced. Breakfast is basic but filling, with tea, yogurt, cereal, fruit, croissants, cookies, jam, cheese, dulce de leche, and butter. They bring toast since there's no toaster, though it isn't always freshly made. Don't expect avocado, scrambled eggs, or fresh toast. It's a classic spread, but plentiful enough to leave you full. I'd especially recommend the hotel if you want to unwind. If you're very demanding, it may not suit you. A hotel with those extras would cost double or triple elsewhere in the city.

The pool was beautiful, and the service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and ready to help. We were surprised by how peaceful and clean the place was, so close to the city. Our room was well kept, with nice furniture and spotless sheets. The bathroom had everything we needed, though we had to wait a little for hot water in the shower. Once it came through, it was nice and hot. Breakfast was simple and very good: delicious coffee, good croissants, white toast, yogurt with cereal, lemonade, butter, cheese, and jam. We'll definitely be back.

Room 108 was basic and worn. The furniture was old, the wool blanket was itchy, and there were cobwebs. The air conditioning had a stale, musty smell, and the old window unit was as loud as a diesel locomotive. The bathroom was cramped, with a toilet, bidet, sink, and shower all squeezed into one square meter. The shower curtain kept sticking to me as I turned around to wash. Breakfast was the last straw. The toast was made from baguette that seemed a week old, more suited to breadcrumbs, and the dining room was so quiet that I could hear the woman collecting payments arguing with guests from my table. I left. Please talk to the receptionist, Monica. She treated guests badly and shouldn't. I wouldn't go back or recommend the place.
