Conquistador

Just right!

The entrance and reception looked pleasant, but the rooms we got were old, neglected, and smelled of cigarettes. The hallways and elevators weren't much better. The toilet in our first room didn't work, so they moved us. Internet was down, and when I tried the room phone there wasn't even a dial tone. I went to reception, where the receptionist said it was working because it worked downstairs, without looking me in the eye. When I explained the room phone also failed, he acted as if he didn't understand. Nobody mentioned breakfast during our stay, though we didn't want it anyway, so I can't comment on it. Parking is in a separate lot on the same block and doesn't belong to the hotel. In September 2025, a night for two cost $90,000. A fortune for a place that isn't worth it. Don't go, find somewhere else.

The receptionist with glasses was the only good part. Poor thing, he has to put on a brave face for guests while knowing the hotel is a disaster. The room was filthy, with wrecked furniture, dead cockroaches on the floor, damp or cracked walls, and plaster crumbling onto the floor. The carpet was stained beyond belief, and I don't want to know what those marks were from. The hot water came out brown, and the mini-fridge handle snapped off in my hand. There was a hole in the bathroom door like it had been punched, plus another in the ceiling. During our only night there, the elevator was out, so we climbed five flights of stairs. It sounds like a joke, but it's all true. Don't stay here. It's a terrible choice, and not even cheap.
