Apart Hotel Paucam

Our room was very basic, with just the beds and a small counter, no little table. The next day my in-laws, who had booked the same room category, got a much more functional room with a table, small fridge, and balcony. It seems a bit like luck decides which room you get. The fans were enough for us on a very hot day, though the rooms have fans rather than air conditioning. We came for a few days over New Year's and chose the hotel for the pool, location, and payment plan with my bank. The staff were very friendly, and breakfast was good. Since the hotel was full, pool access was by reservation, but we had no trouble getting a time when we asked. It's half a block from the pedestrian area and two blocks from the beach. The basic children's play area kept the little ones busy for a while and has a lovely panoramic view. The beach at that point was very crowded, which I didn't like, though that's not the hotel's fault.

The location was the only good part of the stay. I came back for a second summer visit and could really see how much the service had declined. Staff left much to be desired, and they didn't offer massages or spa services. I rented a triplex, but the rooms had only fans, and there were some cosmetic issues and things needing repair. The Wi-Fi was terrible, the elevator was out on some days, and room service was unreliable. Lots of things around the pool and facilities were broken or unrepaired, and the small pool had strange, dirty-looking water. Breakfast was decent overall and had a good variety.

The Paucam Hotel is beautiful, comfortable, and welcoming. The rooms are lovely, heated, and have everything you need, including a mini-fridge. Cleanliness is impeccable, a perfect 10, and the Wi-Fi works well throughout the building. There's a recreation area on the seventh floor with a pool, a soft play space for kids, and tables and chairs for eating with a panoramic sea view. The spa area is very nice, and the heated pool is just the right temperature. Downstairs in the dining room, hot water is free. Breakfast is generous and everything tastes delicious. The reception staff were wonderful, and one of the cleaning staff members was amazing. She let us take a nap, then cleaned our room. The cleanliness, tidiness, and maintenance were impeccable. I love this hotel. I just came back from four nights there, after a three-night stay in September. Our hotel-style room was like an apartment without a kitchen. For a kitchen, you need to book an apartment-style room. It had two rooms, a separate master bedroom, a large, well-equipped bathroom, and two plasma TVs. The heated pool was a real treat, open until 11 pm, with towels provided, and the area was perfect for relaxing. Breakfast was complete. Upstairs, there's a bar with an ocean view, a pool table, and a children's play area. The location is ideal, half a block from Avenida 2 and a block and a half from the beach. You walk straight into the entrance of the beach resort on Calle 37. Impeccable!
