Alas del Alma Apart y Cabañas

We ended up staying ten nights instead of six because we loved the place and changed our plans. Both rooms we stayed in were in very good shape, clean, comfortable, and we slept really well. The building is charming, especially the stone-walled hallways, and there are outdoor areas to relax. Its location is excellent, and we felt very comfortable throughout. Cecilia at reception was kind and patient, explaining things and suggesting places to visit. Each evening, they asked what time and which breakfast option we wanted for the next day. That worked especially well when we had an early excursion or wanted to sleep in. It was new to me and felt very well organized. Breakfast was delicious, made by a very friendly woman, and each morning we looked out at the main street, its shops, and the hills behind it. Beautiful. We enjoyed our stay so much that we'll recommend it to friends and come back on our next trip to the north.

Breakfast was good and plentiful, and Lourdes served us every day. She was so kind and careful, especially because one of our guests is celiac. We had a good time getting up, having breakfast, and staying out late, but there are quite a few things that could be improved. The photos make the place look beautiful, though I expected more and suspect they may be from when it first opened. The wardrobes, beds, and other furniture need maintenance, and most of it is dilapidated. There were four of us, but only three glasses and plates, two cups, and a couple of pieces of cutlery. There was nowhere to sit for mate or cards, just a bar upstairs and a spot downstairs to heat water 🤨. Cleanliness was lacking. One day there was no hot water, and we had to tell reception the TV wasn't working before they fixed it. At night the folk music groups get quite noisy, making it hard to sleep. In short, a few minor issues.

The location couldn't be better, and the double room is spacious with lovely decor. I also really appreciated how attentive and friendly the breakfast staff were. The shower worked perfectly.

The complex is in a great spot, and there's a bar serving good food and beer at reasonable prices. Lourdes deserves all the awards for the breakfast service: it was complete and delicious, and her hospitality, helpful activity suggestions, and excellent service made it even better.
