The rooms are basic, the service was okay, and it’s a little out of the way.

The hotel was nice, the breakfast very good, and the attention great. But our room had a rari theme. It looked like a recording studio or DJ booth, I’m not really sure. We didn’t like being surprised by that, and I think they should have told us. From what we’d seen online before booking by phone, the other rooms seemed to fit the surroundings better.

The restaurant was a real highlight, with creative, delicious dishes and a long wine list that includes plenty of local choices. Eating outside with the river in the background was lovely. The whole stay felt welcoming from arrival, thanks to the friendly, attentive staff who went out of their way to make us comfortable. Our room was beautifully decorated and spacious, with a comfortable bed and luxurious linens. From the balcony, the river views were breathtaking. La Posada del Rio is also well placed for walking to shops, restaurants, and attractions. It’s easy to explore historic downtown or just unwind by the river. A wonderful place to stay.
