That view was amazing, and the hotel had a simple, charming coziness to it. We stayed April 17th-19th and loved our time there. The hostess was the real highlight. Even with our limited Spanish, she was so kind and welcoming, and made us feel at ease. We’d gladly come back and would recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful, personal kind of stay.

Gise and Sonia were the part I appreciated most, so warm and ready to help with anything. The balcony looks out over the city, and the view is breathtaking. La Llama Negra is beautiful throughout, with ceramic details that we were told were made by the owner. We had a 10/10 stay and will be back. Thank you!

The place itself is lovely, with clean, comfortable rooms, a picturesque feel, and a nice view of Tilcara. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the homemade bread at breakfast was excellent. The croissants, though, were hard and seemed a few days old, and the rest of breakfast was just okay. Getting around was difficult for us. It’s near the center, but the approach is uphill, and you have to haul luggage up several stairs when you arrive. That could be especially tough for older guests or anyone with limited mobility. The hot water setup also took some planning. We were told there was an electric heater and that after one person showered, the next person should wait around 40 minutes so the hot water wouldn’t run out. There was also a mismatch with the Booking.com listing. It said the selected credit card payment would be processed any time before arrival, but when we got there, we were told payment could be in cash, by debit card, or bank transfer. Credit card payments had a 15% surcharge on the published price. None of these downsides had been mentioned in the listing.

The room had an amazing view, and everything was cozy and really comfortable. I loved how the place feels like an art gallery, with beautiful ceramics and drawings on the windowpanes. Miri (or Mili) looked after us so well and was always up for helping or having a chat. La Llama Negra is fully equipped too, so if you want a stay that brings together the beauty of Tilcara and all that art, don’t hesitate. Thank you!
